Field Day 2013

Liam had his annual Field Day at Pinewood Elementary School today.   He was very competitive, placing 2nd in the 80 yard relay and 80 yard dash!  We are very proud of him for working so hard!

Mountain Getaway

We had a great time in the mountains this weekend, enjoying time together as a family.   We visited our favorite gem mine, Doc Rocks, and came away with a 3.5 ct ruby that Stacy had cut for a pendant.   Liam loves the hunt for treasure and made us buy the biggest bucket of ore to sift through.

We also got to visit some of our favorite sites including the Dan'l Boone Inn, Troy's Diner, and Mast General Stores.  Snow was falling the entire visit, providing us a picturesque scene everywhere we went.   It was hard to come home today!

The Season of Giving

Liam had saved his change for months so he could contribute to the Ronald McDonald House, Pennies for Playtime. We are so proud of his humble and selfless thinking, and he is already planning what he will do to give back next year.

He was joined by Kaitlyn and Brendan Welch for the drop off, and all were welcomed with a tour of the facility. What a great environment they have created for the families who are dealing with a sick child at the local hospitals.

Merry Christmas!

What an incredible weekend! For many years, we have viewed Christmas from a consumer point of view. This year, we have a whole new perspective...

After a year of attending and volunteering at Elevation Church, we now see the difference between "keeping up with the jones'", and living a life of humility and sacrifice. Every day is another step in our walk with Jesus Christ. We are excited about the 2,200 new salvations at our church, knowing they are all walking in broken, and leaving with a new perspective on life. The Timeless Christmas sermon was a moving experience about the dividing lines in our lives, inspiring many to make this important, spontaneous decision!

Of course, Christmas is also about the magic of Santa! Liam was excited about the mountain of presents under the tree this year. Before the day started, he said he wasn't sure what Santa could bring since he already have everything he wanted. However, he was quoted as saying, "I guess Santa knows me better than I know me", after opening his gifts this year.

We are so grateful for the opportunity provide Liam with the gifts he wants the most, but most important, blessed with good health and a prosperous year.

We hope you all have a very blessed and merry Christmas!
